I love to hike, but by no means am I an expert. I'm not doing crazy, multi-day trips (yet), but I love getting out to explore National Parks. Here are a few of my favorite things for solo hiking.

Hiking Shoes - I love my Danner boots, they are probably my most worn hiking shoe. I also have the classic Merrell Moab shoe, which I like for more intense outings. If you're unsure what to get, I highly recommend going to REI to try options on and let their staff help fit you.

Hiking Socks - I like Smartwool and Darn Tough.

Backpack - I just purchased this Patagonia one while I was in Denver and I love it. I also have a smaller sling for quick hikes that I got at Marshalls. Similar options here and here.

Hat - I love this baseball hat that has a bigger hole for your ponytail. And this sun hat.

Insect Repellant - I like these wearable bands and these travel friendly wipes.

Towel - a quick dry towel is great to sit on or use to dry off.

Hand chalk - if you are doing any climbing, this is a must.

Water Bottle - this is my favorite to carry because I have to have a straw.

Alarm - I keep this within reach at all times.

Electrolytes - I like this powder to mix with water and these tablets.

Snacks - Very important to remember snacks. I love uncrustables, energy waffles and these oat bites.

Bear Spray - I buy this locally wherever I am since you can't fly with it. But the important thing here is to educate yourself on how to use it!

Garmin Watch - I have this model and I love it. I can connect my Spotify and download maps from AllTrails. I also appreciate the safety features.
